Coach Schumacher

H. Ralph Schumacher, Jr., M.D.

Dr. Schumacher is a professor of medicine and rheumatologist at the University of Pennsylvania. He has worked with gout patients and done laboratory research on gout for over 40 years. Editor of the Journal of Clinical Rheumatology, and author of over 500 scientific papers and 5 books, Dr. Schumacher has been the recipient of prestigious awards from the American College of Rheumatology and other groups.

Coach Choi

Hyon K. Choi, M.D., P.H.

Dr. Choi is a rheumatologist and professor of medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine. He’s also a physician-scientist with a doctoral degree in epidemiology from Harvard University and a board member of the Gout and Uric Acid Education Society. Dr. Choi has led a number of landmark studies on gout and as the author of more than 150 publications, Dr. Choi has been an invited speaker at many medical conferences and institutions around the world.

Coach Edwards

N. Lawrence Edwards, M.D.

Dr. Edwards is a specialist in internal medicine and rheumatology, professor of medicine in the Division of Clinical Immunology at the University of Florida and the Chairman of the Gout and Uric Acid Education Society. He has authored more than 100 scientific publications and 15 books and/or book chapters, and is also an accomplished lecturer.

Coach McTigue

Joan McTigue M.S., P.A

Ms McTigue is a physician assistant at the VA Medical Center and University of Florida College of Medicine in the divisions of Rheumatology & Dermatology. She has been published in numerous journals and is involved in clinical research. In addition, she is a member of the American College of Rheumatology Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee.
